March Favourites:

Its hard to believe another month has just flown by in the blink of an eye! Madness isn't it! Anyway, all that 'OMG, where is time going' stuff, March was a really good month for me, product wise. I discovered some absolute gems this month that I have absolutely and genuinely loved. You may think I'm exaggerating, but you know its true love when you use a product every single day since you got it! Beauty Addicts are you with me???

The first thing I've been absolutely loving is a BB Cream from Lidl. Yes you read that right, Lidl. Its part of their Orisis range that they brought out recently, but it disappears fairly fast off the shelves. (Its back in store for Mother's Day now if you're interested.) But anyway, this stuff is AMAZING. Its light and it feels really cool and refreshing on my skin and gives a decent amount of coverage. It makes me go from looking like I've just gotten out of bed to bright eyed and bushy tailed in seconds! It comes in 2 colours, light and medium. I'm as pale as Casper, and can sometimes find colour matching difficult, but the light shade is perfect for me. And the best bit? Its only 2.99! I'm genuinely so impressed with this, its been my go to base for more or less every day this month.

Next up is a skincare product. Skincare isn't something that I would have been too bothered about before, but in the last couple of months I've been trying harder, as I'm slowly but surely heading for the wrong side of 25. And they say prevention is better than cure! Its Tesco's Pro Formula Hot Cloth Cleanser. This stuff is the best cleanser I've used so far. Hot Cloth cleansers are all the rage in the beauty world lately, so I decided to give one a go. And I'm glad I did! It literally takes every scrap of make up off my face. I even used a micellar solution after it incase there was some make up left on my face, but there was zero!! It was a bargain price of 6.50 and it even came with a little muslin cloth aswell. I find this very rough for my face though so I'll be buying a couple of softer cloths to use with it instead. But its well worth it and I shall definitely repurchase this!

Spring finally seemed to appear in March, and I got so excited I gave my make up bag a good shake up for the sun. This Sleek Blush Trio in Lace has been on my face more or less all month. With 3 differing shades of coral in the palette its perfect for sunny days and evenings. It just makes me feel happy and excited for Summer, and if I were to go on a sun holiday this is something I would definitely pack. These are also great value at around 10 euro for 3 blush shades! Can't go wrong with that! :)

I eventually gave in and picked up the Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Just Peachy. I had been eyeing it up for ages, and although at 2.99 it wasn't going to break the bank, I just wasn't sure the shade was going to suit me. However, I bought it and I'm so glad I did. Its such a beautiful shade of peach, and it doesn't wash me out like I thought it would. Its rare that I wear the same lipstick every day for more or less a month, but for March this is all I've worn.

Because the weather has been so good, I've gone back to my trusty Roger And Gallet Fleur De Figeur as my scent for March. This has gotten me so many compliments over the last few weeks. Its one of those scents that is beautifully sweet and fruity, but not in an immature or teenage way. Its slowly but surely making its way to the bottom of the bottle though, so a repurchase will definitely be on the cards at some point. Its also available in a small bottle and a big bottle, and they're very inexpensive. The bigger size is 39.99 so its not expensive in comparison to other perfumes.

And lastly, I've been obsessed with statement jewelry. Anything big and colourful specifically. This one is a recent purchase from Penney's that I absolutely adore. I love mint green anyway, and teamed with the coral and the pearls its perfect to brighten up a plain outfit. And it was only 8 euro!

So that my dears is March's favourites!
Anything here that you've tried?

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipsticks

Happy Paddy's weekend everybody! I hope you are all well and happy and enjoying whatever you're up to! I'm back today with a review of another product from Wet N Wild, and this time its their Mega Last Lipsticks!

I had heard so much about the lipsticks from various bloggers, so I had actually been planning on picking some up when I got to the States, (4 weeks to go woohoo) but when Wet N Wild arrived here I breathed a sigh of relief. Now I could buy myself some of these famous lipsticks, while at the same time freeing up some room in my suitcase for lots more make up! Win Win! :)
So before I tell you what I think, I'll tell you what the brand themselves say about their product.

'This 4 hour, long-wearing lip colour, leaves a semi-matte, creme finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich velvety colour that doesn't cake, feather or bleed.'

While I do like these a lot, I don't agree with the blurb completely. I find application to be slightly difficult as the lipstick actually pulls at the lips when putting it on. So glides on? Me don't think so! However once its on its a completely different story altogether! The product itself is so comfortable when its on! Its so creamy in my opinion it doesn't feel like a lipstick! I often find myself mushing my lips together like I would if I had a lip balm on, because I honestly can't believe that its so comfortable to wear! Another great thing about these is that they last ages after being applied. I've eaten and drank while wearing these lipsticks, and although they do transfer a little bit, you're not left with all your lipstick on the side of a glass and none on your lips! I find they last maybe 4 to 5 hours on me without being topped up, but even if it didn't I wouldn't mind, because I don't have an issue with reapplying lip products throughout the day. I do notice that after wearing the lipstick for some time, my lips do eventually feel a little bit dry, but nothing that a dab of lip balm won't sort out.
Although they aren't a completely matte finish, they do cling to dry patches (I found out the hard way, so do make sure your lips are prepped before use.

L-R: Rose Bud, Red Velvet, Just Peachy, Smokin Hot Pink, Mauve Outta Here

I have five of these in total and the colours I have are:
  • Red Velvet which is a bright almost coral red. Its a beautiful shade and although its one I don't go to every day, I know its one I'll reach for in the Summertime quite a lot as it'll be gorgeous with a tan, be it fake or real. ;)
  • Just Peachy This is a shade I just picked up recently, but it's fast becoming my favourite colour altogether! Its a lovely peach shade, which I didn't think would suit me too much, but its so nice on!  Its what I thought Rimmel's Apocalips in the shade Luna was going to be, but so much more at the same time. Since I bought this its the only lip product I've worn every day since, I just love it so much!
  • Rose-Bud I picked this up prior to Just Peachy, because I thought this would be more suitable for my skin tone as it was slightly darker. This looks like a dark peach kind of nude shade in the bullet (great descriptions I know), but when its on my lips it nearly looks more brown. I'm not saying I don't like it, because it is a very weareable shade, its just not my favourite of the bunch.
  • Mauve Outta here is a really wearable mauve pink shade. Its a great every day shade, and is something I just throw on if  I'm feeling lazy but want to wear something on my lips! As they say in the beauty blogging world its a 'your lips but better shade' ;)
  • Smoking Hot Pink is last, but by no means least. I left it until last because I haven't actually worn this yet, but what I can tell you is its a bright blue toned pink which I think will be a nice alternative to the dark winter shades for nights out!

So they are all I have for now, but I have to say there's a couple other shades catching my eye, Sugar Plum Fairy being one of them (its meant to be dupe for MAC'S Rebel). These are great lipsticks for the price, which is ridiculous at only 2.99! However, you get what you pay for in the line of packaging. Packaging never usually bothers me with products unless its impractical in some way, which in this instance it is. The lipstick itself doesn't twist down all the way, so every time you take the lid on and off the product, it nicks the lipstick leaving big marks in the product which is a bit of a pain. Besides that though, I'm seriously in love with these. It just shows that you don't have to pay big money for a good quality product, and with so many shades to choose from (26 in total on Wet N Wild's website, not sure if they all made it over here), you will more than likely find a couple of MAC dupes.

Have you lovely ladies tried these? If so, what's your favourite?

How I Conceal and Correct

It would be great if we could all wake up each morning looking absolutely perfect, but for most of us this is not the case. I don't know about everyone else, but in the last couple of years the pores on my nose seem to have got significantly larger, and there seems to be a lot more redness on and around my nose than there used to be. So much so that no matter what primer or foundation I use it still seems to shine through. I'm used to light to medium coverage bases, and my skin is generally quite clear, so I'm not willing to switch to a fuller coverage base just to cover up a bit of redness in one particular area. If it was all over my face, or I had a lot of blemishes, then it may be something I'd consider. For now, I've figured out what works for me at the moment, so until it stops to work I'm going to stick to it like glue.
The two main area's I always conceal and correct no matter what are my nose and under my eyes.

Nose: I've mentioned the problem I have with my nose already so I won't dwell on it again, but I'll just explain what I do to fix it. If you're familiar with the Colour Wheel, you'll know that red is a primary colour, and green is its complementary colour because its across from it on the wheel. So if you put green on top of red, it will cancel it out altogether. So if you have problems with redness on your skin, if you use a green tone concealer on these red areas, they will eliminate the redness. The one I currently use is the green shade from the Catrice 'All Round Concealer' palette. This palette is so handy as it contains a green, pink (to counteract dark circles,) and 3 beige shades to suit differing skin tones. Its really inexpensive aswell which is always a bonus! I apply the concealer to my nose with my finger, and then blend it in with my Real Techniques Flat Foundation brush as its a middling size so it blends in the product quite nicely. The product itself is also really creamy so its easy to work with. And voila, redness is gone!

Maybelline's The Eraser (mine is disgusting and empty)
Under Eyes: The reason I conceal my under area is for the same reason as most others, dark circles! For most people, the area under there eyes will be of a purple/blue hue. If you look to the Colour Wheel to see the complimentary colour this, you'll see its yellow. Henceforth, a good colour to disguise the bags under the eyes is yellow. The area under the eye can be more difficult to find a concealer for because if you choose something to thick, it'll end up cakey and sitting in the lines around the eye. A more liquid concealer is perfect for this job as it blends in easier. I know a lot of people use Mac's Pro Long Wear Concealer for under the eyes, and I am hoping to pick it up when I go away, but for now I'm using two others. (At least I was until it one of those ran out). Those two are the Maybelline The Eraser, and Wet n Wilds Cover All Concealer.  Unfortunately I've ran out of the Maybelline one, and its 11 euro here, and something like 8.99 dollars, so naturally enough I'm going to stock up when I get over there instead of buying it here. ;) In fairness though it is a pretty good product. It comes with a little sponge applicator on the top, which some people don't like but I wasn't bothered about either way. Its a nice light liquid product, so it blends like a dream, it counteracts the darkness under my eyes, and brightens the area up all at the same time.

Until I get to New York though I'm going to use the Wet n Wild Cover All Concealer, which I picked up partly out of curiosity, it was only 2.99 or so, so it wasn't going to break the bank if it wasn't good. However though I was really impressed. Its another liquid product, but its a little bit thicker in consistency than the Maybelline one, but not so thick that it cakes and creases. In fact it blends really easily, and it actually offers more coverage than The Eraser. After using my concealer of choice I then set it with a powder, the one I'm currently using is the Rimmel Stay Matte.

Lastly, for the odd time I do get a whopper of a spot, I don't tend to wear a lot of make up as it just makes it more noticeable in my opinion. If I'm going somewhere though and can't go Au natural, the concealer of choice is Catrice's Camouflage Cream which is comparable from what I hear to the  Bobbi Brown corrector, accept this stuff is only just over 5 euro if my memory serves me correct. Its amazing, like its industrial strength stuff! It covers anything, and I mean anything! I've previously had scars on my hands from being pure clumsy but after dabbing a bit of this on it you wouldn't know they were even there! It is a very thick concealer though, so it wouldn't be suitable for the likes of under your eyes, but I find it works a dream for spot concealing, and just literally applying the tiniest amount on the pesky buggers!

Sorry this post was so long winded everyone, I didn't realise I used that many concealers on my mug!
Do you use as many as this? If so, which ones?

Loved Up Lippies

Everyone loves a bright lipstick don't they? Well what better reason do you need to break them out but Valentines!
Today I thought I'd show you my favourite pink and red lipsticks that are perfect for the rosemantic weekend that's upon us!

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple: Everyone has heard of these by now, and knows how fantastic a product they are. If you're the type of person who usually shys away from red lipsticks, this is the perfect way to slowly dip your toe in the water. With the colour of a lipstick, but the comfort and moisture of a lip balm, these can be built up to a really strong red colour, or can be worn more sheerly with just a wash of colour over the lips. If you're a pink girl rather than a red, Sorbet is a nice alternative. These are 11.20 in Boots and all usual Revlon stockists.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick No 20: The formula of these lipsticks is without a doubt the most comfortable I've ever worn. Really smooth to apply and not at all drying when on the lips. This dark pink is the perfect shade, not too light that it leaves your lips too pale, but not too dark either. These is a matte formula of these lipsticks aswell, but I personally prefer this formula, but hey we're all different! At 6.99 they're really affordable and you can pick up a couple of them for less than the price of one MAC one!

Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipstick in Pinkadilly Circus: This shade from Catrice is a slightly more muted shade of pink  than the Rimmel offering, and so is a little easier to wear. Its a really pigmented lipstick that offers lots of shine at the same time. The lasting power isn't the greatest, but I'm not too bothered about that because I tend to top up my lipsticks a lot, purely out of habit I think at this stage. They are a bargain price at only 5.49 each, and again there is a great selection of colours and finishes to choose from. There are some of them that have a slightly frosty finish, so I tend to steer clear of those ones myself.

Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Colour in Red Velvet: I was so delighted that Wet N Wild finally arrived to Ireland, and needless to say it wasn't long before I hotfooted it to town to pick up a few bits, the lipsticks being one of the first things I wanted to try. Red Velvet is a beautiful coral red colour, so again if true red's ain't your thang, this is a great one to try. I even wore this on Monday, just because! The only thing I would advise with these is to make sure your lips are in tip top condition if you're planning on wearing any of the megalast lip colours. The formula is slightly drying after a few hours wear, and it does tug at the lips when applying. But just do it bit by bit and you'll be fine. Slow and steady wins the race and all that! ;) It really is worth giving it a go, it is only 2.99 after all!

Sleek Pout Polish in Powder Pink: This is a product I recently rediscovered in my collection. This is a great product for those who are slightly less adventurous when it comes to lipsticks etc but still want to wear lip products. The pout polishes are a conditioning lip balm that offer a slight hint of colour with lots of shine while providing your lips with lots of moisture and nourishment. It also contains an SPF of 15 which is always a bonus with lip products as a lot of us forget that our lips need to be treated with the same care as our skin. Powder Pink is a nice natural 'your lips but better' colour, (I hate that phrase by the way), it just adds a nice slight hint of pink and plenty of shine! It also smells like Vanilla! Again they're not expensive, coming in at a cheap and cheerful 5.49! They are available from Sleeks own website, or our very own Cloud10Beauty. I have heard some Sleek is available in Boots in Liffey Valley, but as I'm the other side of the country I can't say for sure!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Big Bang: This is exactly as is says on the tin, a bang in your face red colour! Its the perfect shade of red to match a nice and simple eye look with just some black eyeliner  and lashings of mascara! The apocalips are one of my most loved products from 2013, a seriously pigmented lip colour that lasts for ages! Like seriously, no matter what you do these WILL NOT budge for hours! If this isn't your cup of tea, then try Stellar! It leans slightly more to the coral red side, but I really love it, its a real statement lip with little to no effort. (Although take your time applying, otherwise it can be a little messy,).I have just seen that these are on offer in Boots right now for 5.95, usually they cost 7.95, so you'll save 2 euro for yourself, which you could put towards buying yourself something else nice in Boots! ;)

So they are just some of the shades and products I have in my collection that I may or may not be rocking next weekend, depending on what plans my boyfriend has up his sleeve.. What about you lovely ladies? Any exciting plans?

Wet N' Wild Sweet As Candy Trio

I have tried to restrain myself from writing this post too early, but I can't help it. I have fallen head over heel's for these eye shadow's so I may aswell just be upfront about it and admit the truth! I have been lusting after the Naked 3 Palette as soon as I heard about it, there's something about the pink hues in it that are calling out to me! It is possible that it will eventually be mine, but when I spotted this trio I thought it would be a good alternative for the moment. OK I KNOW all the shades aren't pink, but I figured that it will give me a fair idea if the colours in the Urban Decay offering will actually suit me.

So as you can see from the picture (and from the description on the actual eyeshadows, there's a highlight for the browbone, a brown crease shade, and then a pink for all over the eyelid!
I have to admit that the name of the actual trio kind of encouraged me to buy it aswell, I'm a sucker for sweeties!
Everyone and their next door neighbour raved about the quality of Wet N' Wild eyeshadows, and I understand why. They are some of the best quality eyeshadows I've ever used. Soft, creamy, easy to use with little or no fallout, and lots of pigmentation. I mean look at the picture below with just one swipe of my finger!

I'm not usually one for effort with my eyeshadow, its usually just one colour over the lid and that's it. But this year I am going to attempt to get a bit better at my eye makeup and doing more blending etc.
I have tried to take a picture of how this looks on my eyes, but the only thing I can see is the big line across my nose from my glasses! :(
But really I do quite like how it looks on my eyes, and although you can't see the highlight in the picture, it does look really nice. I'm so impressed with the quality of Wet N Wild make up so far. Everything seems to be such good quality for such incredible prices!

Have you tried anything from Wet N Wild yet?
What are your thoughts?

Wet N Wild Haul!

So every beauty obsessed lady in Ireland were delighted to hear that Wet N Wild had crept into some Dunnes Stores in Dublin unknown to us. I had given up hope of finding it in Galway for another few weeks, (the official launch is next week), so I'd resigned myself to waiting patiently. Until last night!
After work myself and my better half headed into get dinner in the city, and after stuffing ourselves with chicken in KFC, we went for a romantic stroll in Dunnes. The first aisle we headed for was the beauty aisle, but no sign of it there so just incase we headed upstairs. (My other half was just dragging his heals behind me, can't blame him really). After a bit of wandering I came across Rimmel, and there was a stand the far side which I thought was Catrice, until I walked around and nearly jumped out of my pants, WET N WILD WAS HERE!!!! Needless to say I picked up a couple of bits, so I thought I'd show you all what I got, incase like me you want to hotfoot it down there straight away! ;)
                                                  My stash of Wet'nWild

Wet'n'Wild's best known products are probably the eyeshadow palettes. So of course I had to pick up 3! Comfort Zone is probably the most well known, so even though I definitely did not need another neutral palette I picked up anyway. The right hand side appealed to me more because I don't really have any green colours for my eyes, so thought it would be nice to try. The next one I bought was Poster Child, which is made up of 8 bright and fun shades. I really stick to the same colour eyeshadows all the time, so I thought this palette would be a nice way of trying bright looks for my eyes once the warmer weather hits. The yellow and turquoise look like a really interesting combo! These are great value at only 6.49 each!

I also picked up one the trio's of eyeshadow's because I just thought the colours were so pretty. I have actually used this today and it seems lovely so far! Its called Sweet As Candy. The name alone just sold it to me! The price of these again was so reasonable at only 4.49!

I had heard that the blushes were also very good, so I picked up the shade Heather Silk. Again I tried this today, and all I can say is, go easy with your brush! Its so so pigmented, and I had a lot of work to do to try and tone it down after application because I went in to hard with my brush! Oops.. But don't make my mistake and you'll get along just grand! There was a great selection of colours and it didn't break the bank, again at only 4.49!

Another thing I had heard a lot about were the lipsticks, so I had it in my head when I heard Wet'n'Wild were in Ireland to try them. I picked up two colours in the MegaLast Lip Colour, Mauve Outta Here and Rose Bud. I couldn't not really try them, they were only 2.99!! They both seem like really natural every day colours, so when my lips heal up a bit as they are very cracked on both sides, I'll definitely be trying them out.

And of course I had to try the Megaslicks Balm Stain. I don't know what it is with me and lip crayons! This was the only thing I didn't swatch on my hand, so I don't really know what it'll be like, but it just like it'll be a nice fun Barbie pink! It was only 3.99, so not the end of the world if I don't like it!

So that's all I got! I was so delighted to see it in Galway I got slightly excited and wasn't really sure what I wanted, but in the end I calmed myself and picked out what seem to be the stand out products! It was great to see the stand pretty much full, and no products opened and tested bar the actual testers, which always gets on my nerves! I picked up my bits in the Dunnes in Briarhill, so I would assume it would be in the other stores in town now, or else soon enough!
